Current Lake Fork Fishing Reprt
Fishing report Written February 23, 2010

Greeting friends. Well it has been a long cold and wet winter and fishing is starting to pick up on Lake Fork. The fish are starting to move to the shallows and with the cold water that we still have this means two primary baits.
Here is where and how I would fish Lake Fork right now. I would go to the very north end of all the major arms and creeks of the lake and look for some good vegitation. Fish the edge of the grass with a rattle bait like an xcalibur XR50 in shades of red or gold and black. And my big fish bait would be a jig and trailer combination. Once you get bit slow down and cover that area very well. Fish will gang up this time of year when they move into the shallows.
Let that rattle bait tick the top of the grass. When it gets caught in the grass rip it loose and then alot of your strikes will come as the bait comes out of the grass and falls a little. You will need a little stiffer rod to do this and I would suggest if you are looking for a new rod this year to check out the Powell Brand of fishing rods. http://www.powellco.com
As the water gets a little warmer start throwing your soft plastics and I would suggest the Netbait brand of products. The Paca Craws in all sizes along with the Mad Paca, Salt lick, and B bug will all put fish in the boat.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to give me a call. If you would like to book a fishing trip or need a little bit of information please give me a call or shoot me an email.
I hope this information helps and good luck.
